Sealing your pavers will help protect your investment. Mr Green Pressure Clean offers paver sealing. Each paver sealing job is different. We start by visiting the property to inspect and measure the pavers. Depending on condition and previous sealing we can determine what is best for your pavers.
After the inspection the 1st part of the process is to clean the pavers. If previous sealer that isn't water based is present, stripping will be required. This process can be expensive which is why we only recommend using water based sealers. As water based sealer can be sealed over top of existing water based sealer without stripping.
If no sealer or water based sealer is present, all we have to do is clean the pavers. We use our 10% cleaner to 90% water solution on the pavers to kill any organic materials. We then use a commercial pressure washer with a surface cleaner to remove any organic materials and sand from the joints. We then pull any weeds from the pavers. To finish the cleaning we rinse all dirt and sand off the pavers.
Our sealing is usually a 2 day process. 1st day we clean the pavers. The 2nd day we start with sanding the joints. This is important as it will lock the pavers in place. The sealer we use has a great bonding agent that turn the sand hard. So no need for polymeric sand. After the sand is swept into place we apply one coat of sealer to the pavers. The water based sealer is a Penetrating sealer. This means it absorbs into the paver vs a top coating. So only one heavy coat is required.
All furniture must be removed from Paver area for multiple days when sealing. After the pavers are sealed you can not walk or set furniture on them for at least 24-36 hours after sealing. Walking or setting furniture before the sealer dries will cause footprints or furniture to stick to the pavers. You can not drive on the pavers for 48 hours. We ask you keep your irrigation system off for 48 hours after sealing.
